Claire Wheaton GSV Champion

COMPLETE MADNESS SPORTS

Press Release - Melbourne, Australia

October 10th 2003

Competing in the Girls Schools Victoria (GSV) finals overnight, CMS athlete Claire Wheaton managed Gold, Silver and fourth in her three individual events.

Girls Schools Victoria is an annual championships held between all the private schools in Victoria, the second largest State by
population in Australia. The top 8 ranked athletes in each event are invited to compete in the finals, held at Olympic Park, home of the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

In her first event, the 100m, held into a ferocious head wind, Claire led through the first 50m but was caught as the line
approached, eventually finishing fourth. Claire's time of 13.82 seconds was well outside her personal best.

During the past month Claire has been training with a new hurdles coach, none other than CMS's Irie Hill, who was a prodigious hurdler in her youth, setting several German junior records. The plan was to try and finally break through the 13 second barrier in Claire's last 80m run. Unfortunately Claire was just outside the time with 13.08 seconds, which was also just outside her own GSV record of 13.06 seconds.

In the Long Jump Claire took an unexpected silver medal with 4.61m after coming back from the hurdles mere minutes before.

Claire will next compete on Monday night in the IGA Knockout Schools Final, again held at Olympic Park.

Irie Hill announces fixtures and plans for 2003

CMS Press Release

May 20th, 2003

Irie Hill announced her 2003 outdoor fixture campaign today with the express aim of making the World Championships team in Paris.

"After missing out on the World Indoors, and the excitement from competing and winning a medal at last years Commonwealth Games, I want to get out and jump high this summer. My coach and I have worked very hard this winter on technical flaws which cost me good heights in the past, and I believe I am on the verge of a breakthrough in my results.

I am very happy that I will get to compete in my "home" tracks this summer as there are meetings in Melbourne University, where I train in the winter, Eton, which is my home club and also Regensburg which is my club in Germany. Hopefully this will help me to get the qualification mark of 4.40m and get a place on the team to Paris".

Irie will begin her campaign with an open meeting at the University of Melbourne, Australia on June 7th.

Larissa Lowe takes first place in Southern League

CMS Press Release

May 20th, 2003

Larissa Lowe debuted for her new club, Bournemouth AC, in a Southern Women's league meeting, held at her old club venue of Thames Valley Athletic Club, Eton. Lowe took out first place in the vault with 3.50m, a 10cm improvement from a week earlier, and just 10cm off her personal best.

WSEH athlete Catherine Macrae was second with 3.40m. Unfortuntately as the bar was raised to 3.60m a torrential downpour meant that the competition had to be abandoned, leaving Lowe frustrated.

She travelled to Stoke for the National League match the following day, but again was frustrated as the rain meant the event was cancelled prior to starting! She will now aim to compete in the County Championships next weekend.

CMS TEAM ANNOUNCE INDOOR 2003 GOALS

CMS NEWSLETTER

January 2nd, 2003

Welcome all to a brand new year of madness with the pole vault. With the addition of sponsorship from ESSXsport for Irie Hill, and also the ability to buy poles from us we are really looking forward to expanding our team in 2003 and adding some new up and coming vaulters from around the globe, stay tuned for more information!

Rachael Dacy has quit the vault and decided to move on to other things, and we wish her well in her future endeavours. Rachael is the current CMS record holder for women with her 4.25m from Box Hill in 2002.

Meanwhile the existing team have been training hard in the off-season, with almost all of them targetting the indoor season.

Dominic Johnson ended his season latest of all, with a win at the CAC championships, and will kick off 2003 in Europe after some intensive training in Zweibrucken, Germany, under the careful eye of his coach, Vitaly Petrov. His first competition will be in Zweibrucken at the end of January.

Irie Hill will hope to continue on the medal winning trail she laid down in 2002, after Commonwealth Bronze and triple Gold at the World Masters she begins her season with a tilt at the World Indoor Championships. Her first competition will be in Glasgow on February 1st, where she will take on the best of the rest from Europe in the
Norwich Union challenge.

Dave Jacobs continues his education in the US at Rice, and will hope to improve on his 2002 results as he becomes more accustomed to the rigours of the US collegiate system. He will begin his competition season in Houston late in Jaunary.

Christian North will aim to cement a top 3 place in the UK when he begins his season in mid-January, knowing he has an outside chance of making the World Indoors as training has been going very well.

Larissa Lowe and Laura Ballotta will be aiming to finally pass the 4m mark which they have been threatening for the past year or so, and with Larissa fully recovered from her hamstring problems of 2002. They start there season this weekend in Cardiff.

Even the coach will have a go, his target is the Cheltenham Harriers indoor record of 3.65m, which he will be aiming to break at the Birmingham Games in Feb, and then a shot at the outdoor record of 4.05m later in the year as he returns to full fitness from his ankle injury of 2002. (No more soccer!!)

Last, but by no means least, the indefatigable Jason Hinkin is back in training after breaking his achilles earlier in 2002, and having to attend his wedding on crutches. Maybe (and we all know it's a big one) married life will settle him down enough to get back to the heights of the former NCAA Div1 champion.

Good luck to everyone in 2003, and above all have fun!

IRIE HILL & ESSX SPORT TEAM UP FOR 2003 ASSAULT ON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

ESSXsport Corp. December 2002 (a Nevada Corporation Symbol OTC pinks ESXS) a producer of pole vaulting poles, landing mats and sports equipment has signed up to provide equipment to UK Number 1 female pole vaulter Irie Hill for the upcoming 2003 season.

Hill, the Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist, will use the ESSX Earl Bell* designed vaulting poles as she prepares for a dual World Championship year, starting in less than 100 days at the NIA in Birmingham, England.

Bruce Caldwell, President and CEO of ESSXsport Corp., and a former pole-vaulter himself said

"Our team of technicians, coaches and world class athletes have developed over the past 20 years important relationships and long lasting friendships that are highly valued. Because of those relationships the team is designing and engineering some of the best sporting goods products to enhance athletes performances. Irie's performances in 2002, where she became the first UK female to ever win a major medal in the pole vault, as well as her triple gold medal winning performance at the World Masters Games convinced us that we should work together towards her goal of becoming one of the top pole vaulters in the world".

Irie Hill said at today's launch " I am very proud to be working with Bruce and the team at ESSXsport. They have been fantastic in the assistance they gave to me last year, when I used ESSXsport poles for the first time at the UK Grand Prix in London. Since then we have been working together with my winning vault at the World Masters Games in October coming on an ESSXsport pole. I feel this is the final piece of my personal puzzle to push my results into the top echelons of world class pole vaulting."

As a part of the sponsorship deal Irie's management company, Complete Madness Sports will also become a reseller of ESSXsport products in the UK and European market, extending an existing agreement currently running in Australia.
