Handicap Information
Handicaps will be done by simply adding height to a vaulters best vault on the night.
For example, if the best vaulter in the field has a seasons best of 5.00 metres,
and the next best vaulter has a best vault of 4.80, the back marker would receive
scratch and the second best vaulter a handicap of 0.2 metres.
Handicaps will be done using the best height achieved in the year 2000, although the
handicapper needs to have some discretion. On the entry form the vaulter should reveal
both their 2000 season best and their all time personal best.
There will be a handicap limit such that a male vaulter will not be handicapped on a
height less than 4.00 metres and a female vaulter will not be handicapped on a height of
less than 3.00 metres. The implication of this being that if the best male vaulter had a
best of 5.00 metres and the best female a best of 4.00 metres, the limit handicap for
both males and females would be 1.00 metre.
